METHODIST CONFERENCE UNDERWAY IN ACCRA
The 11th biennial and 49th Conference of The Methodist Church Ghana has commenced at the Wesley Methodist Cathedral, Asafoatse Nettey Road Accra.
The 5-day Conference which is on the theme “Discipleship: Teaching everyone to live like Jesus Christ”, is presided over by the Most Rev Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo.
The Methodist Church Ghana Conference is the apex body of church which delegates from all 21 dioceses of the Church deliberate to take stock of the state of the work of God.
This year’s Conference is expected to see the Election of a new Lay President to replace the incumbent whose tenure of office ends this year.

Bro. William Oduro, a lawyer with the Sunyani Diocese of The Methodist Church Ghana has been elected Lay President of the Church.
A past Lay Chairman of the Sunyani Diocese, Bro. Oduro polled majority votes from delegates at the Church’s 11th Biennial/49th Conference, currently ongoing at the Accra Wesley Cathedral.
The Lay President assists the Presiding Bishop in giving leadership to the Church in addition to carrying out duties assigned to him/her by the Methodist Conference and by the Presiding Bishop.
Bro. Oduro takes over from the incumbent, Bro. Bernard Clement Kwasi Botwe whose tenure of office ends this year.

Youth advocacy group, the Methodist Youth Against Vigilantism (MeYAV) has embarked on a peace march to campaign against violence and drum home the need to promote peace in the forthcoming general elections in Ghana.
The march which came off on October 31, 2020, saw scores of youth march along some principal streets of Accra with placards accompanied by brass band music. Some of the placards read, “Elections do not mean war”, “Only your thumb, not your weapon”, “Be a patriotic citizen”, “We cry for peace” among others. 💡 HYMN REFLECTIONS:
Who do you look up to for examples and inspiration in life? Yes, there are wonderful people around but none comes close to Christ Jesus. He is meek and humble in heart. He is the only One who truly cares. He pities our simplicity. He will never put away anyone who comes to Him. Look up only to Christ Jesus. His life, nature and examples when constantly and faithfully held in view is able to change such lives. Amen! Pray!
